What are some of the biggest adjustments you've had to make in college compared to high school? I have to be really mentally prepared in college. I have to try and move past my mistakes rather than dwelling on them. It's so competitive here, so I have to just forget about the last play and keep playing.
What made you decide to come to UT? I really liked the tradition at UT and the level of competition.
Have you noticed that the game has a much quicker pace? Yes. The game is much more competitive, has a quicker pace and is much more challenging. I love it.
I hear you grew up with Nolan Ryan. Where did you grow up and how did you know him? I'm from Alvin, Texas. It's about an hour south of Houston. I have two older brother and two older sisters. My sisters and his daughter played volleyball together, so when I was younger my family became really good friends with the Ryan family
You play most positions in the infield. What is your favorite position on the field? I like the third base. It's a quick position that's based on fast reactions.
Who is your favorite athlete? I like Lance Berkman. He's wears No. 17 just like I do and he is actually from Houston. He's a great switch hitter and all-around athlete.
What do you do in your spare time? My roommate, Kori Cook, and I like to watch a lot of movies. We also like to go out to eat with Crystal (Saenz). We always go to the Olive Garden.
Since you like to watch movies so much, what is your favorite movie? Kori has really broadened my horizons in movie choices. I have to say that I really like the "Saw" movies.
What's your favorite class at UT so far? My favorite one so far would be weather and climate. My professor is an experienced meteorologist and he also does some radio broadcasting in the morning.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a college softball coach.
