AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior cornerback Brandon Foster was selected to ESPN.com's All-Bowl Team following his performance in Texas' 52-34 win over Arizona State in the 2007 Holiday Bowl. ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach chose the team.
In the game, Foster recorded seven tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a tipped pass that led to an interception by S Marcus Griffin. The forced fumble and recovery came midway through the first quarter and set the Longhorns up at their own 48-yard line. Two plays later, Texas took a 14-0 lead on a 4-yard run by QB John Chiles that followed a 48-yard rush by RB Jamaal Charles.
The tipped pass and ensuing interception came on the first play of the Sun Devils' second possession in the third quarter after Arizona State received a punt at the Texas 40-yard line, trailing 28-13. The Longhorns took over at the ASU 5-yard line, and after a fumbled punt by Arizona State, the Longhorns extended the lead to 35-13. Foster later put the finishing touches on the win with his interception on the Sun Devils' final drive.
