TEAM NOTES
- Texas opened the season with eight straight wins for the second time in Mack Brown's tenure, joining 2005.
- Texas also started 8-0 for the 12th time in school history. The Horns also started 8-0 in 2005, 1983, 1977, 1970, 1969, 1963, 1961, 1959, 1920, 1918 and 1914.
- Texas was playing its 39th game as the AP's top-ranked squad and is now 30-6-3 in those games.
- Texas is 22-4 (.846) in its last 25 games versus Top 25 opponents, including a 16-2 (.889).
- Texas owns a 21-2 advantage in the all-time series against Oklahoma State, including a 14-1 mark in Austin.
- Texas has won the last 11 meetings against Oklahoma State and 16 of the last 17.

Quan Cosby
- Cosby caught a pass in his 39th consecutive game. It is the second-longest streak in school history behind Roy Williams' 47 from 2000-03).
- Cosby moved into a tie with Keith Cash for 10th place on UT's career TD reception list with 13.
- Cosby moved into third place on UT's career reception list with 176, passing Kwame Cavil (174).
- Cosby caught seven or more passes for the fourth consecutive game and the sixth time this season.
- Cosby increased his school record for career kickoff return yards to 1,697.
- Cosby extended his school career record for kickoff returns to 71.
- With seven receptions, Colt McCoy and Quan Cosby extended their UT record for completions between a QB and a WR with 155.
- Cosby moved into seventh place on UT's career list for all-purpose yardage with 4,232 yards, passing Roy Williams (4,109).
Sergio Kindle
- Kindle gobbled up his second fumble recovery of the season.
- Kindle increased his season sack total to 5.5 and his career total to 6.0 with his sack.
Hunter Lawrence
- Lawrence is now 43-of-43 on PATs this season.
Colt McCoy
- McCoy set the UT career record for total offense with 9,232, passing Vince Young (9,167).
- McCoy's 432 yards of total offense was a career high and ranked fourth in school history. It was his second career game of 400 or more yards of total offense.
- McCoy set the school single-game school record for pass completions with 38. The previous record was 32 by McCoy against Central Florida in 2007. Major Applewhite completed 37 passes against Washington in the 2001 Holiday Bowl before

- McCoy's 38 pass completions set a school record. He held the previous school mark with 32 against Central Florida in 2007. Major Applewhite completed 37 passes against Washington in the 2001 Holiday Bow before bowl games counted in NCAA records.
- McCoy's 45 pass attempts tied for seventh on UT's single-game chart. The school record is 47 by four different players.
- McCoy's 391 passing yards were a career high and rank fifth on UT's single-game list.
- McCoy set a school record with 18 consecutive pass completions. He set the record last week against Missouri with 17 consecutive completions.
- McCoy became the second player in school history to pass for over 8,000 yards in a career. McCoy ended the game with 8,158 and trails only Major Applewhite (8,353) on the school list.
- McCoy became the first Texas player to throw 20 or more TDs in three separate seasons.
- McCoy joined Major Applewhite in becoming the second player in school history to record three seasons with over 2,000 passing yards.
- McCoy became the first player in school history to log 2,500 or more yards of total offense in three separate seasons.
- McCoy's 268 passing yards in the first half ranks sixth on UT's all-time list. The school record is 314 by Major Applewhite against Stanford in 1999. McCoy threw for 295 against Rice in 2007 and 269 against Rice in 2008.
- McCoy moved his career record as a starter to 28-6, tying Bobby Layne (28-6) for second place on UT's all-time list and two wins shy of Vince Young (30-2) for the school record.
- McCoy increased his UT career TD pass record to 72 with one TD pass in the game. He now has 21 on the season, which ranks sixth on the school's single-season list.
- McCoy recorded his 24th career 200-yard passing game and his seventh of the season.
- McCoy recorded his seventh career 300-yard passing game and his third of the season.
- With his two TD passes and one TD rush, McCoy increased the UT career record for TDs responsible for with 85.
- McCoy thrown a TD pass in 31 of his 34 starts.
- McCoy was 14-of-14 for 160 yards and one TD pass in the second quarter. In the second quarter of the last two games, McCoy was 23-of-23 for 291 yards and three TD passes.
- McCoy has thrown a TD pass in 12 consecutive games, second on UT's all-time list. The school record is 19 by Major Applewhite (1998-99).
- With his 41 rushing yards, McCoy moved up four spots on the UT career rushing list to 38th place, passing Delano Womack (1,064), Mike Dowdle (1,056), Ham Jones (1,053) and Butch Hadnot (1,042) with 1,074 yards.
Vondrell McGee
- McGee's 14-yard TD run was his second of the season and the 10th of his career.
Henry Melton
- Norton increased his season and career sack total to 3.5 with a career-high two sacks.
Jared Norton
- Norton logged a career-high eight tackles.
Chris Ogbonnaya
- Ogbonnaya become just the second running back in school history to log over 400 receiving yards in a season. He ended the game with 412 yards and trails only Eric Metcalf (556 - 1986) in the UT record book.
- Ogbonnaya set a career high with seven receptions. He previously caught six balls twice earlier this season.
- Ogbonnaya moved into a tie with Hodges Mitchell for sixth place on UT's single-season list for receptions by a RB. He passed Phil Brown (31) and Chris Samuels (26) in the game.
- Ogbonnaya moved into fifth place on UT's career list for receiving yards by a RB with 664.
Brian Orakpo
- Orakpo moved his season sack total to 9.0 and his career total to 19.5
Jordan Shipley
- Shipley set a school record with his 15 receptions. The previous record was 13 by Roy Williams against Nebraska in 2002.
- Shipley's 168 receiving yards were a career high, topping his 155 yards against Rice earlier this season.
- Shipley's 168 receiving yards ranked 13th on UT's single-game list and were the most by a UT player since B.J. Williams went for 187 yards against Iowa State in 2003.
- With his 14-yard TD reception with 1:47 remaining in the first quarter, Shipley set a school record with a TD catch in his eight consecutive game. He passed Limas Sweed who caught TDs in seven consecutive games in 2006.
- Shipley became the 10th UT player to log 100 or more career receptions. He ended the game with 101 catches.
- Shipley moved into a tie with Wane McGarity (1998) for seventh place on UT's single-season reception list with 58.
- Shipley recorded his third career 100-yard receiving game, all in 2008.
Attendance: 98,518 - UT's 51st consecutive sellout and largest home crowd in UT history... It marks the third time this season Texas has re-set the school's attendance record.
