Texas Athletics boasts seven programs ranked in the Top 10 nationally

AUSTIN, Texas -- With the release of today's ESPN/USA Today preseason poll in men's basketball, The University of Texas currently boasts seven athletics programs that rank among the Top 10 nationally in their respective polls.
Football currently holds the No. 1 spot in the BCS Standings (Oct. 26), while the men's swimming and diving team owns the top ranking in the initial College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll (Oct. 16). Women's volleyball holds the No. 3 spot in the latest CBS College Sports/AVCA poll (Oct. 27) and has sported a Top 10 ranking for 36 consecutive weeks.
Women's swimming and diving is ranked No. 7 in the initial CSCAA poll (Oct. 16). Women's soccer currently rests at No. 8 in the most recent Soccer America rankings (Oct. 26), and men's golf stands at No. 8 in the latest Golfweek Sagarin Performance Rankings (Oct. 23). Men's basketball was tabbed No. 8 in today's release of the ESPN/USA Today preseason poll.
