Knight named Big 12 Women's Track and Field co-Athlete of the Week

AUSTIN, Texas - Freshman sprinter Bianca Knight was named Big 12 Conference Co-Athlete of the Week honors after automatically qualifying in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes at the Tyson Invitational. The first-year Longhorn shared the honor with Kansas junior Nickesha Anderson.
Knight ran the fastest 60-meter dash ever by a Longhorn freshman and met the NCAA automatic standard in 7.21 seconds. In the 200, Knight clocked the second-fastest time (23.07) in the nation this year and met the automatic mark to guarantee a spot at nationals.
The Longhorns travel to the 2008 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 29-March 1 at the Bob Devaney Track Center in Lincoln, Neb.
