Men's Tennis overpowers UTSA, UT-Arlington

AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 7 Texas improved to 5-0 on the season with a 7-0 win over Texas-San Antonio and a 6-1 win over Texas-Arlington Sunday at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
Freshman Ed Corrie and sophomores Rook Schellenberg and Jon Wiegand tallied two singles victories apiece, and Texas swept all six doubles matches on the day.
Texas also registered singles victories from seniors Milan Mihailovic and Luis Diaz Barriga, sophomores Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala and freshman Kellen Damico.
The Longhorns improved to a perfect 15-0 in dual-match doubles play, and Texas has won 27 of its 30 singles matches through the dual-match season.
Texas resumes competition on Friday, Feb. 8 when it meets Texas A&M in the Texas Cup at The Downtown Club at the Met in Houston. The non-conference match is set for a 6 p.m. Central start. Live results will be available at TexasSports.com.
