No. 7 Men's Tennis defeats No. 22 Texas A&M, 4-0

HOUSTON -- No. 7 Texas (6-0) claimed the doubles point and collected singles wins from freshman Kellen Damico and sophomores Josh Zavala and Dimitar Kutrovsky, as the Longhorns defeated No. 22 Texas A&M (3-1) by a 4-0 margin Friday evening in the Texas Cup match at The Downtown Club at The Met.
Texas claims the renewal of the Texas Cup, a series of non-conference, neutral-site matches played in Houston from 2001-03, as UT improves to 4-0 in the series. The win will not count toward the Big 12 Conference standings or the State Farm Lone Star Showdown standings.
Texas returns to competition on Friday, Feb. 15 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Seattle. UT will take on 10th-ranked Alabama in the opening round at the Seattle Tennis Club in Seattle, Wash.
