McCoy's 981 completions, 1,398 attempts, 70.2 completion percentage, 11,269 yards, 96 TDs and 154.8 passer rating rank first on UT's all-time list and he is the first Longhorn to pass for more than 10,000 yards.
He holds three of UT's top seven single-season marks for passing yardage (No. 1, 3,859, 2008; No. 3, 3,303, 2007; No. 7, 2,570, 2006). In combining his passing (96) and rushing (18) TDs, McCoy ranks 10th on the NCAA list and first on UT's TD responsible for list with 114.
In addition, McCoy has rushed for 1,314 yards and 18 TDs on 366 carries (3.6 ypc) and has rushed and passed for a TD in the same game 13 times during his career. Overall, McCoy is UT's all-time leader in total offense and ranks 11th on the NCAA all-time list, having produced 12,583 yards (11,269p/1,314r).
In six games this season, McCoy has gone 156-of-223 (70.0%) for 1,537 yards and 11 TDs for a 137.9 passer rating, while rushing for another 91 yards and a TD. He is averaging 271.3 total yards per game (21st NCAA).
The 2009 winner will be presented with the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Friday, Dec. 11, at the Tremont Grand Meeting & Banquet Facility in downtown Baltimore. Joining the festivities that evening will be a number of former Baltimore Colts teammates of Johnny Unitas, along with NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr.
