Corovic, Ellis eliminated from ITA All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES -- Texas freshman Aeriel Ellis upset Auburn's 10th-ranked Fani Chifchieva but was unable to stave off elimination from the consolation singles draw Friday at the ITA All-American Championships.
Ellis (Hayward, Calif.) handily defeated Chifchieva by a 6-1, 6-3 count in the consolation singles round of 16 before falling to Fresno State's Anastasia Petukova in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-0.
Texas senior Vanja Corovic joined Ellis in the consolation singles round of 16, where she suffered a 6-2, 6-1 defeat to Clemson's Josipa Bek.
