No. 28 Women's Tennis edges DePaul, 4-3

EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 28 Texas (2-2) earned a hard-fought doubles point and split the six singles matches to emerge with a 4-3 victory over No. 61 DePaul Saturday afternoon at Northwestern University's Combe Tennis Center.
UT assumed a 1-0 lead after overcoming a strong Blue Demons' effort in the doubles session. Sophomores Amanda Craddock and Caroline Larsson posted an 8-3 win at third doubles over Gia McKnight and Kirsten Gambrell. UT picked up the doubles clincher at the first position, where senior Marija Milic and junior Vanja Corovic pulled out a 9-7 win over Selma Salkovic and Anna Redesci.
Texas picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win from Corovic over DePaul's Redesci at first singles, and Larsson knocked off Sandra Zmak at third singles, 7-6, 6-4. With the match knotted at three points apiece, Texas junior Sarah Lancaster outlasted Katarina Milinkovic at sixth singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to deliver the 4-3 win for the Longhorns.
