AUSTIN, Texas -- Men's Tennis coach Michael Center will spend this coming weekend critiquing forehands and instructing players how to chase lob volleys to the baseline.
In many ways, it will be like just another day in the office for Center. But the audience will be different -- they'll be adults attending the Longhorns Tennis camp.
Their focus, however, isn't any different than anyone who competes at UT. They're focused on consistently improving, and being the best they can be.
All UT sports offer summer camps, with activities filling UT sporting facilities in June and July. UT coaches and players are actively involved in running the camps, which are mostly geared toward younger audiences from elementary grades through high school.
Camp participants receive high-level instruction, and the unique component of being at The University.
"I think it's a great opportunity for kids to experience The University of Texas," Soccer coach Chris Petrucelli said. "They get to be on campus, in our facilities and work very closely with our coaches and players."
Said Center: "The kids stay in the dorms on campus and meet new friends who come from all over the state. It's a great experience for these kids."
