Women's Swimming and Diving earns CSCAA academic accolades

AUSTIN, Texas -- The CSCAA (College Swim Coaches Association of America) has bestowed a Scholar All-American Team honor upon the University of Texas women's swimming and diving team and honored eight Longhorns as Scholar All-Americans.
The CSCAA awarded Texas its Scholar All-American Team status by way of the team's 3.23 grade-point average for the spring semester. Teams must meet a minimum 3.0 grade-point average to earn Scholar-All-American Team status.
Eight Longhorns earned Scholar All-American awards based on their achievements in and out of the pool. Graduating seniors Hee-Jin Chang, Kathryn Kelly and Jessica Livingston, along with rising sophomores Karlee Bispo, Shelby Cullinan, Kathleen Hersey and Katie Riefenstahl, were selected to the first team. Graduating senior Rebecca Orr earned an honorable mention Scholar All-American accolades.
Swimmers and divers earned first-team selections by qualifying individually for the NCAA Championships and maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average either cumulatively or during the spring semester. Student-athletes earned honorable mention selections by maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average and posting NCAA consideration times or NCAA zone diving qualifying marks during their respective seasons.
