No. 15 Women's Basketball tops Missouri, 64-59

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Brittainey Raven scored 11 points and No. 15 Texas held off Missouri 64-59 in the first round of the Big 12 women's tournament Thursday.
Fifth-seeded Texas (23-7) trailed 29-28 at the half and couldn't put away the Tigers until the final minute. The Longhorns advanced to a quarterfinal game Friday against fourth-seeded Texas A&M.
Missouri (12-18) lost in its final game under Cindy Stein, who announced her resignation March 1. Stein was 185-177 in 12 years at Mizzou.
Amanda Hanneman kept the Tigers in the game, making a career-high seven 3-pointers and finishing with a game-high 21 points. Jessra Johnson had 11 points.
POST-GAME NOTES
-Texas improved to 17-12 all-time in the Big 12 Championship ... the Longhorns are now 2-1 when playing as the fifth seed and 2-0 when playing the No. 12 seed.
-UT is 5-7 this season when trailing at the half.
-With Earnesia Williams reaching 1,000 career points at the 3:16 mark of the second half, Texas now has three players on its roster with over 1,000 career points.
-It is the first time since the 1991-92 season that the Horns have had a roster with three players with 1,000 career points...it is the sixth time in school history that a team has had at least three players with 1K points.
-All nine players on the roster recorded at least two points, marking the 11th time this season everyone who has played has recorded at least two points
-Texas outrebounded Missouri 42-36, marking the 10th opponent in the last 12 outings the Horns have outrebounded their opponent.

-Recorded five blocks to move her season total to 99, setting the UT single season record ... passed Ellen Bayer (97 blocks, 1988-89)
-Recorded five blocks for the 13th-straight outing with at least one block
-Five blocks tie for the third most in a Big 12 Championship First Round Game and are the most since March 11, 2008 (Courtney Paris, Oklahoma)
Kathleen Nash
-Pulled down team-high eight rebounds for her most rebounds since seven against Texas Tech (Feb. 7)
-Now has 65 3-pointers made this season placing her seventh on the UT single-season 3-point field goals made list, one shy of tying for sixth place (66-Kim Lummus, 1998-99; Jamie Carey, 2003-04).
-Connected on three from 3-point range, marking the 10th-straight game with at least one made from long distance.
Brittainey Raven
-Scored 11 points (4-of-10 FG, 1-of-4 3FG, 2-of-2 FT) for her 28th double-digit scoring effort of the season
-Scored 10 or more points for the 92nd time in 131 career games.
-With 1,685 career points, is 23 points shy of cracking into to the top 10 on UT's all-time scoring list.
-Played in her 131st career game, moving her into a tie for ninth most in UT history (131-Annette Smith, 1981-86)
Earnesia Williams
-With her nine points, now has 1,001 career points and becomes the 35th player in UT history to reach 1,000 career points.
