AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Brittainey Raven scored 13 points as No. 18 Texas beat Missouri 60-41 on Wednesday night.
Erika Arriaran added nine points in the win. Cokie Reed held down the low post with nine points and five rebounds but injured her right ankle in the final minute of the game and had to be helped off the court by the training staff.
Toy Richbow's back-to-back baskets forced Texas to call a timeout with a slim 36-30 advantage. After the timeout, Kathleen Nash hit a 3-pointer from the right wing giving Texas a 42-32 lead, and the Longhorns (20-9, 9-6 Big 12) went on a 21-9 run in the final 13 minutes to shut down Missouri.
Shakara Jones and Jessra Johnson both scored 10 points for the Tigers (11-17, 1-14).
With 21 combined turnovers, neither Texas nor Missouri was able to generate much offense in the first half.
The Longhorns jumped out to an early 10-6 lead after two quick layups by Raven to start the game. Texas went on a 12-4 run in the next six minutes to provide some cushion and closed out the first half strong taking a 30-16 lead into halftime.
Missouri shot just 21 percent from the field in the first half, but Jones scored on three consecutive trips down the court after halftime to cut the Longhorns' lead to 34-24.
POST-GAME NOTES
-Texas improved to 18-1 all-time against Missouri and 10-0 when the teams meet in Austin.
-With the victory, Texas recorded its 20th win of the season for its third-straight 20-win season under third-year coach Gail Goestenkors.
-Texas held Missouri without a field goal for the final 6:08 of the first half and first 1:18 of the second half, a 7:50 minute span ... the Tigers are the 22nd opponent the Horns have held without a field goal for four minutes or longer.
-Texas held Missouri to 41 points, 21.9 points below the Tigers' season average entering the game...MU is the 16th opponent Texas has held to at least 10 points below its season scoring average
-With three blocks, Texas now has 173 on the season and are just two shy of breaking the Texas single-season team blocks record of 175.
-Texas limited Missouri to just three assists, the lowest total by any Longhorn opponent this season.

Texas Head Coach Gail Goestenkors
Opening statement: I am just really happy for the seniors. We wanted them to go out with their last regular season home game on a winning note. I am just glad we did. It was nice to play better than we have been playing and play with more confidence and get our running game going a little bit more. I am really proud of the team, but in particular, I am proud of the seniors, not just for this game, but for everything they have given this program throughout their careers.
On the bench outscoring the starting five: All year long it has been that way in that we have such great depth, not big numbers but I think great depth in that it is quality depth. On any given night, you just do not know who is going to have a great game for us.
On the energy the team showed towards the end of the game: We have not had that feeling or that energy much the past three games. Tonight I feel like every little play we were more into it because we were more comfortable and confident. Like Coach said, she has given us more freedom to just go out there and play, and that is what we did tonight.
On whether she had more confidence in her game tonight given it was Senior Night: I wouldn't say necessarily that I had more confidence because it was senior night. I have felt like ever since I got an opportunity to play after an injury that I need to take advantage of that and help my team. I feel like I tried to work really hard in rehab to get back. I do not want to take any game for granted.
Missouri Head Coach Cindy Stein
Opening statement: I've talked a lot about Texas in the last few days, and I just think that in our conference there's a couple teams that really stand out to me as far as their defense. I think Nebraska has a tremendous defense, and I think Texas is right there. They do so many things. They're so athletic. They cause a lot of problems. I think that we're able to obviously make a run, but that defense is incredible. When they get all kicking and they're in gear, they're very tough to stop. Obviously Erika (Arriaran) came in and hit some shots and (Brittainey) Raven got some key rebounds and kind of ended that run we were on. That was the end of the game. They just took over from there.
On if Missouri ran out of gas at the end: I think that we would cut it down, but they did a great job of pushing the ball right back up your gut. You didn't have any time to rejoice. It was get your tails back and let's go. They hit some shots. That's what they did really well. That's what they remind me of Nebraska somewhat. Any time you make a run, they're going to come back and hit you. They did that, and did a good job. It's been an emotional few days for our team. We did get down, and it's something we're going to work on obviously.
On defending Texas in the paint: They're huge. Just between (Ashley) Gayle and (Cokie) Reed, they're just tremendous size, and what great athletes. I think that they really isolated us down there. They were tough to guard. We've got some good athletes ourselves. They're just physically strong, hold their pins well. They did a good job of finding them. What makes them so good is when Raven hits, Arriaran hits. (Yvonne) Anderson came in and did a good job for them. That's what makes their inside presence even better.
On Texas' bench contribution: We talked a lot about Texas. We thought that they were a good 10 deep. They can go 10, and you just never know which ones out of that 10 are going to be the force for that night. Gail (Goestenkors) might not know who's going to be the force either, but they do a great job. She does a great job of finding who's going to be the one.
