Men's Cross Country's Nation named Big 12 Runner of the Week

IRVING, Texas -- University of Texas Men's Cross Country freshman Will Nation was named the Big 12 Conference Runner of the Week for the weekend of September 10-12 as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Nation is the first Longhorn to earn the honor since 2008 and just the second league freshman of the 2010 season to be named runner of the week.
Over the weekend, Nation (Spring, Texas) captured his first collegiate cross country title at the Texas-Texas State dual meet after clocking an 8K time of 25:32.4. He led Texas' seven runners that finished in the top eight en route to the Horns picking up the dual meet team title.
