Women's Basketball falls to No. 2 seed Texas A&M in Big 12 Championship quarterfinals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Chelsea Bass led the Texas Longhorns with 11 points, but Texas A&M defeated UT, 77-50, on Wednesday night in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals at Municipal Auditorium.
With the loss, the Longhorns fall to 19-13 on the season. A&M, the No. 2 seed and defending conference tournament champion, improves to 26-4.
The 11 points for Bass were the most she has scored this season against a Big 12 opponent. Kathleen Nash added 10 points, her 27th double-digit scoring effort of the season and the 80th of her four-year UT career. UT owned the rebounding advantage, 36-35.
Danielle Adams paced A&M with 23 points. Tyra White and Sydney Colson each scored 14 for the Aggies.
A&M raced out to a 12-2 lead as the Longhorns were doomed with four turnovers in the first five minutes of play. The Longhorns cut their deficit to eight, but couldn't get any closer. UT surrendered a season-high 31 turnovers, which led to 37 points for the Aggies.
