Star-studded 4x100m relays to compete at Texas Relays

AUSTIN - A pair of star-studded relays featuring Olympians and world champions will add to an already exciting Saturday at the 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, which got underway today and run through April 9.
On the women's side, Lauryn Williams, Shalonda Solomon, Marshevet Myers and Bianca Knight will field a 4x100m relay in the invitational section. Williams claimed the silver medal in the 100m at the 2004 Olympics and holds three world championship gold medals. Myers, formerly Marshevet Hooker, competed in the 2008 Olympics and finished fifth in 200m.
In the invitational men's 4x100m relay, Wallace Spearmon, Darvis 'Doc' Patton, Michael Tinsley and Trell Kimmons will put a squad together. Patton silvered in the 4x100m relay at the 2004 Olympics and won gold in the event at the 2007 and 2003 World Championships. Spearmon also won gold in the 400m relay at the 2007 World Championships and finished third in the 200m at the world meet in 2009 and 2007.
The 4x100m relays will be run at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.
