Chandler takes third in one-meter event at Phill Hansel Invite

HOUSTON - Texas redshirt sophomore Will Chandler led the Longhorns' diving contingent by taking third in the one-meter event Thursday evening at the Phill Hansel Invitational at The University of Houston.
Chandler placed third in the one-meter preliminary round and went on to take third place in the one-meter finals with 345.25 points. He totaled a meet-best 68.2 points on his first dive, an inward two-and-a-half somersault in the tuck position.
Sophomore Ryan Anthony joined Chandler in the one-meter finals and took eighth with 303.40 points. Freshman Sean O'Brien just missed the finals after placing ninth in the preliminary round with 277.10 points. Sophomore Myles Herzog placed 18 th with 227.55 points.
The Phill Hansel Invitational continues Friday in Houston.
