- Starters: Demarcus Holland, Javan Felix, Jonathan Holmes, Julien Lewis, Cameron Ridley. It is the fifth different starting lineup in eight games for the Longhorns this season.
- Series: Georgetown evened the all-time series with Texas, 1-1. The Longhorns won the first meeting, 78-70, on Jan. 8, 1972 in Austin. Coach Rick Barnes is now 7-9 against Georgetown - 15 of the 16 games were when Barnes coached at Providence College.
- FG defense: Texas held Georgetown to 41.0 percent shooting (25-of-61), including a 34.4 percent mark in the second half (11-of-32). The Hoyas are the first team to record a field goal percentage over 40 against the Longhorns the season. UT entered Tuesday's game as the NCAA leader in FG percentage defense (30.7%).
- In the Jimmy V Classic: Texas falls to 1-2 in its third appearance in the prestigious Jimmy V Classic. The event showcases four of the nation's elite programs in a fundraising event for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. This is the 18th year of the annual event, which began in 1995. The V Foundation has raised more than $120 million and awarded cancer research grants to fund more than 100 cancer centers nationwide.
- 3-point FG streak: Texas shot 4-of-18 beyond the arc and now have hit at least one 3-pointer in 730 consecutive games. The last time Texas did not convert a 3-pointer in a contest came on Dec. 18, 1990 in an 87-84 overtime victory at UC-Santa Barbara.
- Ranked teams: No. 15/23 Georgetown was Texas' first ranked opponent of the season.
- Jonathan Holmes reached double-figure rebounds (game-high 10) for the second time this season (and career).
- Cameron Ridley set a career high in points (11) on 4-of-8 shooting from the field while playing in a career-high 33 minutes. On the season, Ridley is now shooting a team-best 51.5 percent (17-of-33) from the field.
- Sheldon McClellan led UT in scoring (12 points) for fifth time in eight games. McClellan came off the bench to play in a career-high 37 minutes.
