AUSTIN, Texas -- The Big 12 Conference released its 2012 football schedule as approved by the league's Directors of Athletics on Tuesday. The schedule includes Big 12 newcomers TCU and West Virginia, and features a 10-team, nine-game, round-robin schedule.
The conference schedule for Texas begins Sept. 29 at Oklahoma State, followed by a home contest against West Virginia on Oct. 6 before the Longhorns face Oklahoma on Oct. 13 in Dallas. Texas then returns home to face Baylor on Oct. 20 prior to back-to-back road games at Kansas on Oct. 27 and at Texas Tech on Nov. 3. The Longhorns return home again on Nov. 10 to face Iowa State then have a bye week before playing TCU on Nov. 24 in Austin, and finishing at Kansas State on Dec. 1.
The 2012 season opens for Texas with three non-conference games including home games against Wyoming on Sept. 1 and New Mexico on Sept. 8, followed by a trip to Oxford, Miss., to face Ole Miss on Sept. 15 before a bye week leads into the Big 12 schedule.
