Courtney Craig named Big 12 Player of the Week

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Softball senior outfielder Courtney Craig (Oceanside, Calif.) was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week today after leading the No. 6 Longhorns to a 5-0 record last week. Craig batted .529 (9-for-17) with one double, two home runs, 10 RBI and four stolen bases while compiling a .941 slugging percentage. She had a season-high four RBI in the second game of a doubleheader against Texas State on Feb. 29, going 2-for-4 with a home run. In the three-game weekend series against Sam Houston State, she posted six hits in 10 at-bats, including a 2-for-4 effort with a home run and three RBI in the March 3 win.
For the season, Craig is batting .380 with three home runs and 17 RBI. This is Craig's second Big 12 weekly honor in her career.
Texas begins Big 12 play tonight against Texas Tech at 8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. start tomorrow at McCombs Field. Both games will feature a televised broadcast on Longhorn Network with audio broadcast on TexasSports.com.
