TEXAS VS. UT Arlington
- Texas and UT Arlington are meeting for the ninth time. Texas sports an 8-0 record in the all-time series that dates back to a 116-66 UT win on Nov. 28, 1989 in Austin.
- All eight previous meetings have been held in Austin.
- Last year (Dec. 1, 2012), the Longhorns defeated the Mavericks, 70-54.
RIDLEY ON A ROLL
Sophomore center Cameron Ridley averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in 30.0 minutes per game while converting 10-of-15 (.667) field goals and 11-of-16 (.688) free throws during the two CBE Hall of Fame Classic contests in Kansas City earlier this week. Ridley had a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) and a career-high six blocks against BYU on Monday, before adding a career-high 19 points and nine boards against DePaul the following night.
CLEANING THE GLASS
Texas has outrebounded each of its first six opponents and sports a +12.3 rebound margin (43.2-30.8) through the first six contests. The Horns have recorded double-digit rebound margins in four of their first six games, including a +20 advantage (40-20) in Tuesday's win against DePaul.
36 YEARS AGO TODAY
The Frank Erwin Center, home of Texas Basketball, celebrates its 36th anniversary on Friday. The first event ever held in the Erwin Center came back on Nov. 29, 1977, when the UT men's basketball team registered an 83-76 victory against rival Oklahoma. Texas enters Friday's game against UT Arlington with a 438-102 (.811) all-time record in the Erwin Center.
