- Tale of the second half: Texas overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to take the lead on a 16-3 run spanning 3 minutes and 56 seconds. Javan Felix made two free throws at the 8:21 mark of the second half to give UT its first lead of the second half, 49-47. The game was tied six times with six lead changes, including four ties and four lead changes in the second half. Texas out-scored WVU 33-28 in the second half.

In the last seven games Papapetrou is averages 11.1 points per game on 27-of-55 (.491) shooting, including 12-of-25 (.480) from 3-point range, and a team-high 4.9 rebounds per game (34 total).
- Sheldon McClellan reached double-figure scoring (team-high 14 points) for the 20th time this season and 40th time of his career (56 games) ... grabbed eight rebounds to set career high in a conference game ... went 9-for-12 at the free throw line, his third game this season with nine or more free throws made.
- Julien Lewis reached double figures in scoring (10 points) for the 13th time this season and 23rd of his career (54 games) ... tied a career high in rebounds (seven) for the sixth time.
- Demarcus Holland tied a season high in steals (three) while leading the team in that category for the third time ... grabbed five rebounds in 26 minutes played - the most boards since he recorded a career-high against Sam Houston State (11/27).
