Meet the freshmen Q&A: Rami Hammad
06.24.2013 | Football
OL Rami Hammad from Irving, Texas, is one of the members of the 2013 freshmen class.
What went into your decision to come play at Texas?
The academics are good. The football is really good, and a lot of tradition. I am excited to be part of the best school in the whole nation.
What was the advice your parents gave you when you left home?
Just to work hard and don't be a different person when you get to college. Just be you.
Do you think you are ready to start this new chapter in your life?
Yes. In every way. In academics. In football. In everything. I think I have prepared very well. I have thought about this moment for a long time, and I am ready for it.
What do you think about the Texas facilities?
It is really an amazing place. It is very nice and it is a blessing to be here. I love it.
What relationship do you have with assistant head coach/offensive line coach Stacy Searles?
We are real tight, real close.
What are your impressions of Coach Brown so far?
He is a really nice man and a fair man overall.
With a lot of offensive linemen in your recruiting class, what is your goal for your first year?
Hopefully some playing time. It is my number one goal right now, and there is nothing else besides that for me. I'm just trying to be the best O-lineman out there.
What is it going to feel like the first time you run out onto the field in burnt orange in front of 100,000 screaming fans?
It is going to be crazy. I have never experienced that before, so I don't know what it is going to feel like. But I know I am going to have to put on a good show for all the fans watching.
