TEXAS VS. IOWA STATE
• Saturday's contest marks the 27th meeting between Texas and Iowa State. UT owns a 16-10 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to a 101-87 Iowa State win in Tempe, Ariz., on Dec. 21, 1966.
• Texas is 10-1 against ISU at home, including five straight wins at the Erwin Center. The Longhorns are 14-5 against Iowa State during the Rick Barnes era entering Saturday's game, including 10 wins in the last 12 overall games.
WHAT'S IN A WIN?
• A win would mark the 1,688th victory in program history.
• A win would mark head coach Rick Barnes' 372nd victory at Texas and his 574th victory all-time as a head coach.
• A win would improve UT's record to 14-4, marking the program's best 18-game start to a season since 2010-11 (started 15-3). It would also mark the ninth time in the Rick Barnes era (last 16 years) that the Horns have opened the year with at least 14 wins in their first 18 contests (17-1 in 2009-10; 16-2 in 2005-06; 15-3 in 2000-01, 2003-04, 2007-08, 2010-11; 14-4 in 2002-03, 2004-05).

• SUCCESS AGAINST IOWA STATE AT HOME IN THE BARNES ERA
Texas enters Saturday's contest with an 8-1 mark against the Cyclones in the friendly confines of the Erwin Center during the Rick Barnes era. UT posted a dramatic 89-86 double-overtime win against Iowa State last year in Austin. The last win by ISU in Austin came in a 92-80 overtime victory on Feb. 5, 2005.
• BETTER IN BIG 12 PLAY AT THE LINE
Texas has been a much improved free throw shooting team during its first four league contests. The Horns have converted 65-of-87 (.747) free throws in Big 12 games after hitting just 63.1% (251-of-398) from the stripe during their first 13 non-conference contests. In its last two games, Texas has converted 36-of-44 (.818) free throws.
• RIDLEY SEES DOUBLE
Sophomore center Cameron Ridley posted his fourth double-double of the season with his 12-point, 12-rebound effort in Monday's win at West Virginia. Ridley added two blocks and converted 6-of-8 field goals in 29 minutes. On the year, he leads the team in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and blocks (2.2 bpg) and ranks fourth on the squad in scoring (10.6 ppg).
