• Ridley Sees Double
Sophomore center Cameron Ridley has posted back-to-back double-doubles entering Tuesday's contest. In the last two games, Ridley has averaged 14.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in 28.0 minutes per game while converting 13-of-18 (.722) field goals. He had 16 points (7-of-10 FG), 11 boards and five blocks in 27 minutes during Saturday's win against No. 8/10 Iowa State.
• Holmes' Career Day
Junior forward Jonathan Holmes tied his career high with 23 points while setting a career high in field goals made (9-of-13) in 31 minutes during Saturday's win against Iowa State. He added seven rebounds (all coming in the second half), two blocks, one assist and one steal in the victory. Holmes leads the team in scoring (13.1 ppg) and ranks second in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and third in blocks (24) while hitting 52.8% from the floor.
• Cutting Down on the Miscues
Texas committed a season-low eight turnovers during Saturday's win against No. 8/10 Iowa State. In fact, the starting backcourt of Isaiah Taylor, Javan Felix and Demarcus Holland combined to record a total of 10 assists against just two turnovers in 92 minutes played.
TEXAS VS. KANSAS STATE
• Tuesday's contest marks the 27th meeting between Texas and Kansas State. The Wildcats hold a 16-10 lead in the all-time series which dates back to an 87-60 K-State win in Manhattan on Dec. 8, 1971. The teams met again in the 1971-72 season at the NCAA Midwest Regional, resulting in a 66-55 K-State win in Ames, Iowa (3/16/72).
• The Longhorns are 9-10 against K-State in the Rick Barnes era. Texas is 6-6 against K-State at home, including a 1-1 mark in overtime games at the Erwin Center. Texas is 10-11 against K-State since the Big 12's inception in 1996-97.
NIGHT AND DAY
Through 18 games last year, the Longhorns had posted an 8-10 overall record, including an 0-5 mark in Big 12 Conference play. This season, the Horns are off to a 14-4 start, including a 3-2 mark in league play.
WHAT'S IN A WIN
• A win would mark the 1,689th victory in program history.
• A win would mark head coach Rick Barnes' 373rd victory at Texas and his 575th victory all-time as a head coach.
• A win would improve UT's record to 15-4, marking the program's best 19-game start to a season since 2010-11 (started 16-3). It would also mark the ninth time in the Rick Barnes era (last 16 years) that the Horns have opened the year with at least 15 wins in their first 19 contests (17-2 in 2009-10, 2005-06; 16-3 in 2003-04, 2007-08, 2010-11; 15-4 in 2000-01, 2002-03, 2004-05).
