Women's Swimming and Diving sweeps quad meet

Longhorns lead from start to finish, post decisive early-season wins over host Michigan, Indiana and Louisville.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Texas won three events and finished off decisive team victories over host Michigan, Indiana and Louisville in a two-day quad meet that concluded Saturday afternoon at Michigan's Canham Natatorium.
Texas defeated the host Wolverines by a 199-154 margin and handed Louisville a 243.5-109.5 defeat. The Longhorns also knocked off Indiana by a 204.5-148.5 final count to start the season with a perfect 3-0 mark.
Texas opened day two by securing its third consecutive win in a relay event. The quartet of seniors Sarah Denninghoff and Gretchen Jaques, sophomore Brynne Wong and freshman Rebecca Millard sealed the win in 1 minute, 40.81 seconds. Texas trailed Louisville at the 150-yard mark before Millard put Texas in the lead for good with a 22.63 anchor split.
The individual events resumed with the 200 backstroke, where Tasija Karosas led the Horns with her third-place mark of 1:56.02, good for the nation's eighth-fastest time this season. Sophomore Rebecca Baxley followed in seventh at 2:02.84.
The freshman Millard led the Horns in the 100 freestyle with her third-place mark of 50.50, while senior Shelby Webber took sixth in 51.51. Jaques notched the ninth-fastest time this season in the 200 breaststroke and cruised to victory in 2:13.85. Senior Kaitlin Pawlowicz led the Horns in the 500 freestyle by taking sixth in the event at 4:51.11. Senior Kelsey LeNeave notched the nation's 13th-fastest time in the 100 butterfly with her second-place mark of 54.16.
Sophomore Madisyn Cox put the finishing touches on a strong weekend with a second-place time of 4:14.51 in the 400 IM. The Lubbock native posted the nation's sixth-fastest time and a NCAA "B" cut with the swim.
All-America senior Emma Ivory-Ganja led a one-two-three Texas finish atop the final one-meter diving standings. The UCLA transfer took the win with 301.85 points while junior Meghan Houston placed second with 290.60 points. Sophomore Murphy Bromberg rounded out the top-three with 290.35 points.
Texas closed out the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay at 3:22.08.
