• DEFENSE AND REBOUNDING: Texas held North Dakota State to 50 points on 27.4% FG shooting (17-of-62), including a 7-of-29 (.241) mark from three-point range in Friday's victory. The Horns also posted a +19 rebound margin (51-32) against the Bison. Six UT players had at least five rebounds in Friday's win.
• SUCCESS AT THE STRIPE: The Horns converted 18-of-21 (.857) free throws during their season-opening victory against North Dakota State on Friday. Six UT players went to the stripe on the night, and no player missed more than one free throw attempt.
• IMPRESSIVE DEBUT: Freshman forward Myles Turner posted 15 points (6-of-8 FG, 3-of-4 FT) to go along with six rebounds (three offensive) and two blocks in 20 minutes off the bench in his collegiate debut.
LOOKING FOR 1,700th WIN IN PROGRAM HISTORY: The Longhorns hold an all-time record of 1,699-1,008 (.628) in its 109 years of intercollegiate basketball entering Sunday's contest against Alcorn State. With a win on Sunday night, UT would become the 17th program in NCAA Division I history to reach the 1,700-win mark.
