• Sunday's contest marks the eighth meeting between Texas and UConn.
• The Huskies hold a 5-2 lead in the all-time series which dates back to a 94-77 win in Austin by No. 8 Connecticut on Dec. 14, 1991.
• No. 16 UConn posted a 96-86 victory in Storrs on Dec. 15, 1993, and the No. 5 Huskies registered a 77-67 win in Hartford against No. 15 Texas on Jan. 10, 2000.
• The two teams have split the last four meetings in the series. Texas upset No. 15 UConn 60-56 in Austin on Jan. 15, 2001. The No. 5 Horns recorded an 82-78 win against No. 23 Connecticut in the NCAA Sweet 16 in San Antonio on March 28, 2003. The Huskies then posted an 88-74 win in Storrs against No. 1 Texas on Jan. 23, 2010. In the most recent meeting (Jan. 8, 2011), No. 8 UConn recorded an 82-81 overtime victory against No. 12 Texas in Austin.
BARNES vs. CONNECTICUT
• Texas coach Rick Barnes is 8-11 all-time against the Huskies entering Sunday's game. During his time at Providence (1988-94), the Friars recorded a 6-8 mark against Connecticut. Barnes is 2-3 against the Huskies during his time at Texas.
