• HOLMES NEARS 1,000 POINTS: Senior forward Jonathan Holmes enters Monday's game just 13 points shy of reaching the 1,000-point mark in his career. He will become the 34th player in UT history to reach the milestone.
• SUCCESS AGAINST RICE: Texas has won nine consecutive games against the Owls. The Horns have won 16 of the last 17 and 31 of the last 36 meetings in the series. UT is a perfect 8-0 against Rice during the Rick Barnes era.
• FELIX FINDING THE RANGE: Junior guard Javan Felix has averaged 18.0 points while hitting 13-of-25 (.520) field goals, including 5-of-13 (.385) from three-point range, in 32.0 minutes per game over the last two contests.
LONE STAR STATE SUCCESS
• Since Rick Barnes arrived in Austin prior to the 1998-99 season, the Longhorns have emerged as the dominant college basketball program in the state of Texas.
