IRVING, Texas -- Junior Nneka Enemkpali (First Team), sophomore Imani McGee-Stafford (Second Team) and Chassidy Fussell (Honorable Mention) are listed on the 2013-14 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Awards, released on Thursday by the conference office.
Enemkpali was named All-Big 12 First Team after finishing the regular season with the second-most rebounds in the league (8.8 rpg), while leading Texas in scoring (12.5 ppg) and shooting percentage (.527). Enemkpali registered seven double-doubles this season, including a conference-high 21 rebounds and 15 points against West Virginia on Jan. 25.
Enemkpali is the second Longhorn to earn first-team honors in the last eight seasons. The Pflugerville, Texas native was given All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore last season.
McGee-Stafford made her way to All-Big 12 Second Team honors after pacing the Longhorns in scoring during Big 12 play with 12.1 points per game on a team-high 54.1 shooting percentage from the field. Her 42 blocks during conference play ranks second in the league. In the last four games, the Los Angeles native is averaging 18.0 points per game, including a career-high 26 at Iowa State on Feb. 22.
Last season McGee-Stafford was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
Fussell earns her fourth consecutive All-Big 12 honor as an Honorable Mention nod this season. The Troy, Tenn., native finished the regular season as UT's third-leading scorer (10.0 ppg) after missing the first four conference games of the season due to injury. Fussell also earned honorable mention honors as a junior, first-team honors as a sophomore and second-team honors as a freshman.
The third-seeded Longhorns (20-10, 11-7 Big 12) open the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship against sixth-seeded Oklahoma on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Central (FOX Sports Network). UT's third-place finish in the Big 12 is the best finish since the 2004-05 season.
