Men's Basketball falls at Texas Tech, 59-53

Martez Walker scored a career and team-high 13 points in the Longhorns' final regular-season game.
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas led much of the game, but a Texas Tech surge over the last few minutes capped off a 59-53 win for the Red Raiders.
Senior forward Jaye Crockett had a tremendous game on senior night, pacing the Red Raiders with a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. His play inside anchored the team throughout, keeping Tech within striking distance despite a poor shooting night by his teammates.
The Red Raiders (14-17, 6-12 Big 12) went on an over six-minute stretch without a field goal in the second half, but a 16-3 run down the stretch gave Tech a seven-point lead with under a minute remaining and sealed the game.
Texas converted only 35.1 percent of its attempts from the floor and a 4-for-14 performance from three. Freshman guard Martez Walker had a career-high 13 points off the bench, but it wasn't enough to compensate for a combined 15 points from the Longhorns' starting backcourt of Demarcus Holland, Javan Felix and Isaiah Taylor.
