No. 25 Women's Tennis tops Kansas, 6-1

Longhorns improve to 5-1 in league play, close regular season at home with three key conference matches.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – No. 25 Texas (10-9, 5-1 Big 12) swept the doubles session and won five of six singles matches on its way to a 6-1 victory over Kansas (11-8, 2-4 Big 12) Sunday afternoon at Jayhawk Tennis Center. Texas extends its winning streak to five matches as it heads into the regular season's final stretch.
UT closes the regular season with home matches against league co-leaders Oklahoma State and Baylor in addition to Oklahoma, with whom Texas shares third place in the Big 12 standings.
Texas swept the Jayhawks in doubles play to assume a 1-0 match lead. UT's Breaunna Addison and Elizabeth Begley led off with an 8-1 win over KU's Maria Jose Cardona and Maria Belen Luduena at first doubles. UT clinched the doubles point at third doubles, where Juliana Gajic and Pippa Horn defeated Morgan Barnhill and Caroline Henderson by an 8-5 count. Texas closed the doubles session with a tiebreak win from Ratnika Batra and Neda Koprcina at second doubles.
Addison made short work of KU's Dylan Windom and posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at first singles to give Texas a 2-0 lead. UT's 112th-ranked Begley dealt Cardona a 6-1, 6-2 defeat at second singles, and the Longhorns clinched the team victory behind the 86th-ranked Batra's 6-1, 6-2 win over Luduena at third singles.
Texas' Koprcina pushed the Longhorns' lead to 5-0 with her 6-2, 6-2 win over Los at fourth singles. UT's Horn notched the final point for Texas with her 6-3, 6-4 win over Trubica at fifth singles.
Texas returns home to Penick-Allison Tennis Center on Friday, April 11 when it hosts Oklahoma. First serve is set for 6 p.m. CT. The match will air live on Longhorn Network.
