Track and Field set to compete in USA Junior Outdoor Championships

Two-day meet begins Saturday in Eugene, Oregon, with 12 current or future Longhorns in the field

Twelve current or future members of the Track and Field team will compete in the 2014 USA Junior Outdoor Championships, which is being held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Carlton Anumnu (100m, 200m), Charles Anumnu (100m, 200m), Kendall Baisden (400m), Spencer Dunkerley-Offor (110mh) and Robert Uhr (800m) will represent the current roster in the two-day meet that begins Saturday. Incoming freshmen Max Dordevic (400mh), Kally Long (pole vault), Nicholas Meaders (pole vault), Shay Petty (pole vault), Barrett Poth (pole vault), Chyna Ries (long jump) and Byron Robinson (400m) are also scheduled to compete.
Less than one month ago, Baisden and Charles Anumnu competed at Hayward Field in the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Baisden finished third in the 400 meters, ran the second leg of the victorious 4x400-meter relay and the second leg on the third-place 4x100m relay. Anumnu ran on the 4x100m relay at nationals.
Dunkerley-Offor and Charles Anumnu advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Round, and Uhr was second in the 800 at both this year's Big 12 indoor and outdoor meets.
The six entries of current collegians on the men's side is tied for first in the nation with Oregon, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The meet will be streamed on USATF.tv beginning with the first running event each day. Saturday's coverage begins at 4:50 p.m. Central and Sunday's at 4:45 p.m.
