Track & Field/Cross Country’s Bennett, Rendon named to SEC Community Service Team

Hudson Bennett and Kaylin Rendon were recognized for their efforts in serving the Austin community.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas Track & Field/Cross Country's Hudson Bennett and Kaylin Rendon have been selected to the 2026 SEC Track & Field/Cross Country Community Service Team, the conference office announced on Thursday. Each of the conference's men's and women's programs were represented by one student-athlete on the team.
Bennett, a junior from Burnet, Texas, has been an active participant in Texas Athletics' community outreach efforts throughout the 2025-26 academic year. Bennett has been involved in the Texas SAAC Giving Tree Gift event and multiple service activities with SERVE Austin, which focuses on supporting local communities through service initiatives. He also played a key role in helping form and revitalize the group of Texas student-athletes involved with SERVE Austin. Recognized as one of March's Hook 'Em Community Heroes, Bennett uses his platform to advocate for victims of domestic abuse, working to raise awareness and support survivors as they navigate their recovery.
Rendon, a sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas, has made a meaningful impact through Texas Athletics' community outreach initiatives. Also honored as one of March's Hook 'Em Community Heroes, Rendon participated in the Texas SAAC Giving Tree Gift event and multiple service activities with SERVE Austin. She is passionate about addressing food deserts and expanding access to healthy, nutritious food, and proudly supports organizations dedicated to ensuring all communities have access to fresh and healthy foods regardless of income or circumstance. Through community advocacy and service, Rendon is committed to advancing food access equity and helping create healthier, more stable communities.
The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 22 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
