Nneka Enemkpali's senior season cut short due to injury.
According to Associate Athletic Trainer Lisa Stalans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results show that senior forward Nneka Enemkpali tore her left anterior cruciate ligament during Monday's game at Baylor. The injury is season-ending.
"My heart goes out to Nneka because she has grown so much during her career at The University of Texas -- as a player, as a leader, and as a person," Head Coach Karen Aston said. "It is never easy to see a student-athlete's career cut short like this. Nneka has been the heart of our program for quite some time, and as we move forward she will continue to play a vital role on this team from the sidelines."
Enemkpali finishes her collegiate career ranked ninth in total rebounds (899) and 30th in total points (1,116) at Texas. The Pflugerville, Texas native leads the Big 12 in rebounding (10.4 rpg) and double-doubles (nine) this season.
