Texas posted a 168-130 victory over Indiana and dealt Florida a 171-129 defeat. Indiana knocked off Florida by a 159-139 count. The meet was contested in a 50-meter long-course pool more commonly used in international and U.S. national meets.
Texas picked up its first win of the day in the 800m freestyle where freshman Joanna Evans of The Bahamas was victorious in 8 minutes, 54.12 seconds. Texas held substantial leads over Indiana and Florida, but after Florida trimmed the lead, UT's Carrozza gave the Horns some breathing room with her winning mark of 2:13.66 in the 200 backstroke.
Cox and freshman Olivia Anderson put more distance between Texas and Florida in the 200 breaststroke with their third- and fourth-place swims that surpassed the Gators' top finishes. Evans added another strong swim and took a close second in the 400 freestyle at 4:20.30.
Cox wrapped a productive evening with her second win of the session. The Lubbock native won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.42 while junior Maggie D'Innocenzo took third at 2:21.55. Cox won a silver medal in the same event over the summer at the World University Games.
