• TAYLOR OFF TO FAST START: Junior point guard Isaiah Taylor tied his career high with 27 points in the season opener against Washington. Taylor set a career high in free throws made (12-of-15) and added seven rebounds.
• RIDLEY'S BLOCK PARTY: Senior center Cameron Ridley set a career high with seven blocked shots in the opener against Washington despite playing just 16 minutes due to foul trouble.

Saturday's contest marks the fourth meeting between Texas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the hardcourt. All three previous matchups have been in Austin. Texas holds a 3-0 lead in the all-time series that dates back to the 2000-01 season. In the first meeting (Dec. 16, 2000), UT recorded a 79-71 win in Austin. The following season (Dec. 5, 2001), the Horns registered an 89-64 victory. In the most recent matchup (Jan. 2, 2010), then-No. 2 Texas posted a 76-70 win.
TEXAS IN HOME OPENERS
Texas has posted an overall mark of 94-15 (.862) in its previous 109 home-opening contests. UT is 33-5 in home openers since the Frank Erwin Center opened prior to the 1977-78 season.
