New procedure rewards fans for commitment to Texas Athletics and its student-athletes.
To reward all season ticket members, Texas Athletics is instituting a Loyalty Points system. This new procedure provides a simplified process to determine priority for season tickets, parking, AT&T Red River Showdown, postseason games and other high-demand events.
"The Loyalty Points system adds value to all season ticket and Longhorn Foundation members," said Steve Patterson, Texas Men's Athletics Director. "It also rewards those who make a lifetime commitment in Texas Athletics and our student-athletes through philanthropic contributions, which are vital to the future success of our programs."
The 2015 Texas Football season ticket renewal process will be the first application of Loyalty Points. Totals are based on full season ticket history, seat-related contributions and philanthropic gifts. Renewing Longhorn Foundation and season ticket members earn loyalty points based on past contributions and purchase history dating back to 1986, the year the Longhorn Foundation was established.
"Across all areas, we are working to improve the fan experience through increased customer service," said Patterson. "This is one component of that overall goal. It directly reflects a need expressed by our fans that we were able to provide a solution."
Points are awarded as follows:
- 5 points per $100 contribution for philanthropic gifts received after Sept. 1, 2014;
- 2 points per $100 contribution for seat-related contributions received after Sept. 1, 2014;
- 3 points per $100 contribution for all gifts and contributions received from 1986-2014;
- 1 point per season ticket account since 1987.
Texas letterwinners receive a one-time bonus of 150 points.
Fans can view their Loyalty Points status and determine where their next donation will place them in the rankings using the point calculator system available through their DonorNet account. Account holders can also contact their personal service consultant to discuss their loyalty points.
More information on the Loyalty Points system is available at TheLonghornFoundation.com. Season ticket and Longhorn Foundation renewals for the 2015 football season are coming within the next few weeks.
FAQ
Where can I find my point total and ranking?
You can view your point total and rank among active members by logging into your DonorNet account. Once you are logged into your account, you can view details about your point calculation and rank and also use our point calculator system to determine where your next donation will place you in the rankings.
Will Loyalty Points impact my current seat location?
Loyalty Points will not impact your current seat location. They will however provide you with your priority order that determines your ranking if you choose to upgrade your seats.
Do new season ticket orders receive Loyalty Points?
Yes. Similar to the past, new tickets are assigned based on availability and current market value. Loyalty Points are awarded following the standard guidelines for seat-related contributions and philanthropic gifts.
How is the Loyalty Points program different from the previous priority system?
Previously, priority was based on your current year's annual giving and the sport specific program (i.e., season tickets in football, basketball, baseball). Loyalty Points looks at cumulative giving, as well as your current annual contribution.
How will Loyalty Points be applied to parking, AT&T Red River Showdown tickets, post-season tickets, etc.?
Loyalty Point rank will determine the order in which season ticket members select or are assigned locations for parking, AT&T Red River Showdown tickets, post-season tickets, etc
How can I increase my point total to improve my ranking?
All contributions and season ticket purchases increase your point total, but the quickest way to increase your total and associated ranking is to make a non-seat-related gift to the Longhorn Foundation. Those gifts earn points at a rate of 5 points per $100.
Why is Texas Athletics going to a point system?
This is a fair and transparent system to process upgrade requests and determine allocation order for high demand events. Based on feedback from our fans, we are rewarding lifetime donation and season ticket history.
Why does my "lifetime" giving only go back to 1986?
1986 is when the Longhorn Foundation was founded and when athletics-specific giving was recorded.
Do gifts to other areas of the university count for Loyalty Points?
No, only gifts to Texas Athletics earn loyalty points.
How will the 150 points for letterwinners be applied?
Letterwinners who purchase seating will receive a one-time bonus of 150 points. Additional Loyalty Points are earned following the standard guidelines for seat-related contributions and philanthropic gifts.
