Football season ticket information
At a moment when the landscape of collegiate athletics is changing, it will take a collective effort from all of us to keep Texas at the pinnacle. That means a total commitment from our student-athletes, our coaches, our staff and you. We need you to commit to our teams and to Texas.
Our commitment to you is to showcase Texas Football and the best gameday atmosphere in college sports, all the while remaining family friendly and accessible to the community. Our focus must always be to provide our student-athletes the opportunities to compete for championships in athletics and in the classroom.
As season ticket renewals begin for the 2015 season, consider your place on the team and what you can do to ensure Texas stands together as champions.
PRICING
We are in an unprecedented time for intercollegiate athletics. As legislation falls into place that benefits student-athletes during and after their collegiate careers, we must be nimble and creative if Texas is to continue setting the leadership trajectory.
For instance, recently updated NCAA nutritional guidelines allow us to provide our student-athletes with more fuel for competition, including lunch and dinner at the Longhorn Dining Hall and healthy snack options before and after training. In all, these new food services come at an additional cost of $800,000 per year, and other changes are projected to add several more million dollars to our budget.
Texas Football is a significant source of revenue for Texas Athletics, securing almost 70 percent of the entire departmental budget. So a football season ticket, or even concessions purchased during a game, goes a long way in providing athletics and academic aid to each and every Texas student-athlete.
To help shoulder the increased costs of recent changes in NCAA policy, seat prices across the stadium have increased by an average of six percent. At the same time, we have also created a new entry level season ticket price at $199 – the lowest season ticket price offered since 2001. The core of our commitment to season ticket members is championship service. We simply think of this service as "Texas Hospitality," and you should absolutely expect it in every interaction with Texas Athletics.
PARKING
Each year, Texas Athletics pays UT Parking and Transportation Services more than $1 million for athletics event parking, diverting dollars from student-athlete support and structure.
Following consultation with the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council, we have adjusted the gameday parking model to put more resources into the student-athlete experience. Longhorn Foundation members who donate at least $50 annually have access to purchase gameday parking; parking permits are offered for the 2015 season at three price levels.
By paying for parking access, Longhorn Foundation members allow their donations to be directed fully to their intended purpose – providing a premier student-athlete experience.
This model is more also financially responsible. Previously, we automatically purchased and sent parking to all eligible Longhorn Foundation members with football season tickets. Over the past four years, only an average of 6,200 permits were used despite issuing more than 10,000 permits.
In addition, this model allows us to be good campus stewards, as parking availability is being drastically reduced due to construction projects. We will lose access to 572 on-campus spaces through 2015.
Texas Athletics is committed to providing better gameday service to all patrons, and this includes a better gameday parking experience by working with city and campus officials to ensure smooth traffic flow before and after games.
We are also proud to offer additional transportation options, like the Longhorns Express shuttle service. Shuttles provide transportation to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium from Barton Creek Mall (2901 S. Capital of Texas Hwy.) and the Intramural Fields (51st and Guadalupe Streets). The round-trip cost is $9 per person; children 12 and under ride free.

LOYALTY POINTS
To reward all season ticket members, Texas Athletics is instituting a Loyalty Points system. This new procedure provides a simplified process to determine priority for season tickets, parking, AT&T Red River Showdown, postseason games and other high-demand events.
The 2015 Texas Football season ticket renewal process will be the first application of Loyalty Points. Totals are based on full season ticket history, seat-related contributions and philanthropic gifts. Renewing Longhorn Foundation and season ticket members earn loyalty points based on past contributions and purchase history dating back to 1986, the year the Longhorn Foundation was established.

RESALE POLICY
Each and every day, you can trust that Texas student-athletes are committed to training with a purpose and competing with class. As season ticket members, you witness this on the field, on the court and in the water. We also see their commitment in the classroom.
Our collective commitment must be to the student-athletes, and providing them with a home competition environment that supports and sustains championship performance. We need you to commit to our teams and to Texas.
Unfortunately, we have observed season ticket members abusing "grandfathered" per-seat contribution pricing by selling their tickets on secondary markets, often times to fans from opposing teams.
Texas Athletics has developed a resale policy aimed at not only cultivating a home field advantage for our teams, but also at protecting the value of your tickets and preserving the best seats for loyal Texas fans.
