T-Association launches letterwinner tailgate on LBJ Lawn

The exclusive letterwinner tailgate will be open for all six home games and begins four hours before kickoff.
The T-Association is excited to announce the official tailgate for Texas letterwinners. The T-Association partnered with Tailgate Guys to secure a prime location near the forefront of the LBJ Lawn, at the intersection of 23rd Street and Robert Dedman Drive.
Former letterwinners jumpstarted the tailgate tradition two years ago and are working closely with the T-Association to continue momentum.
"It was important for us to have an area that letterwinners could go and make their own," said football letterwinner and tailgate steward Luke Tiemann. "The tailgate hosts such a great range of letterwinners from national champions to Olympians, we wanted to create an all-inclusive tailgate environment to foster personal relationships, business networking and the chance to relive old stories and the traditions that are Texas."
This exclusive letterwinner tailgate will be open for all six home games. The tailgate begins four hours before kickoff and includes:
- Access for letterwinners and up to three additional guests (Please bring identification)
- Food and beverage provided (while supplies last)
- Televisions to watch games throughout the day
The T-Association tailgate is a central location for letterwinners to come together before kickoff and lead the charge in support of the Texas Longhorns. Coach Charlie Strong and the Texas Football team start the Stadium Stampede in front of the tailgate two-and-a-half hours before kickoff.
"The tailgate will give letterwinners the opportunity to re-connect with old teammates, build relationships with other letterwinners, and support the Texas Football team as they arrive at the stadium," said Ted Koy, a national champion with the football team from 1967-69.
From the newly minted Texas graduate looking to start a career after athletics to successful letterwinners looking to build their network, this tailgate opens the door for the Longhorn family to continue making a difference in the lives of student-athletes.
"The T-Association is the driving force behind keeping letterwinners informed, involved and preserving the legacy that has been created at the university of Texas," Tiemann said.
