• FAMILIAR TERRITORY: This marks the 17th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 18 seasons for Texas. UT is one of just six teams nationally to appear in at least 17 of the last 18 tournaments.
• WINNING THE FIRST ONE: Since the NCAA expanded its tourney field to 64 teams in 1985, the Longhorns are 17-7 in their opening game in the NCAA Tournament. Texas is 6-3 in its last nine NCAA opening-round contests.
• TAYLOR ON POINT: Junior point guard Isaiah Taylor became the first Longhorn since 2011-12 (J'Covan Brown) to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 First Team. Taylor leads the team in scoring (14.8 ppg), assists (4.9 apg), steals (29) and minutes (30.8 mpg) and has posted a 2.7 assist-to-turnover ratio (158 assists, 58 turnovers).
