Texas Baseball opens a pivotal Big 12 series against the Oklahoma State Cowboys this Friday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns wrapped up a series victory against Texas Tech on Sunday in Lubbock with a 17-1 run-rule victory. Texas also run-ruled Kansas on April 16. The Longhorns combined for 30 runs in three games against the Red Raiders.
"We capitalized on opportunities," head coach Augie Garrido said. "We did what the ball told us to do, and we're winning more pitches. It's a strong step in the right direction."
The Longhorns are currently tied with the Cowboys for third in the Big 12 standings and hold tiebreakers over the first- and second-place teams after the stirring series win at Texas Tech.
Texas and Oklahoma State are 10-10 in their last 20 regular season match-ups. Oklahoma State enters the contest ranked No. 23 in the D1baseball.com poll, and the Cowboys are coming off a series win over No. 12 TCU this past weekend in Stillwater, Okla.
First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and concluding with a 1:30 p.m. game on Sunday.
