Taylor, Gibson advance to three-meter finals at U.S. Olympic Diving Trials

Former Longhorn Maren Taylor and future Longhorn Alison Gibson move on to Sunday’s three-meter finals.
INDIANAPOLIS – Former Longhorn Maren Taylor and future Longhorn Alison Gibson placed among the top-12 and advanced to the women's three-meter finals Tuesday evening on day four of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials.
Taylor, an 11-time All-American at Texas (2010-14), totaled 541.60 points through the preliminary and semifinal rounds and ended the day in 11th place. Gibson, who will join the Longhorns this fall, tallied 596.85 points for eighth place through Tuesday's two rounds of competition.
Taylor and Gibson move on to Sunday's women's three-meter finals that will air live on NBC at 3:50 p.m. CT.
Wednesday's action at the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials features the finals in the synchronized men's three-meter and synchronized women's platform events. Former Longhorn Troy Dumais enters the synchro three-meter finals in second place while UT rising senior Mark Anderson holds third place heading into finals. Former Longhorn Cory Bowersox sits in fifth place in advance of the finals.
Texas rising junior Murphy Bromberg sits in third place heading into Wednesday's women's synchro platform final. Only the winning teams in both synchro events will earn spots on the U.S. Olympic Team.
The men's synchro three-meter final airs live on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) at 8 p.m. CT with the women's synchro platform final to follow.
