Bromberg places second in women’s synchro platform at U.S. Olympic Diving Trials

UT rising junior Murphy Bromberg takes second in synchro platform and holds second place heading into Saturday’s final round of individual platform diving.
INDIANAPOLIS – Texas rising junior Murphy Bromberg placed second in the women's synchronized platform finals Wednesday evening on day five of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials.
Bromberg teamed with Delaney Schnell to take second in the finals with 846.42 points. The participating teams completed preliminary and semifinal rounds last Saturday before moving on to Wednesday's finals. Only the winning team in the finals was awarded a spot on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team.
Bromberg returns for the women's individual platform finals on Saturday. The All-American leads by just .15 of a point for the second and final qualifying position for the U.S. Olympic Team in women's platform.
The Bexley, Ohio, native is a two-time veteran of World Championships competition and seeks her first berth on the U.S. Olympic Team. Saturday's finals air live on NBC at 7 p.m. CT.
