Durant leads Team USA to victory in Rio Olympics opener

2016 Men's Olympic Basketball Competition Schedule
RIO — Former University of Texas standout Kevin Durant posted a team-best 25 points to lead Team USA to a 119-62 victory against China in the opening game of the 2016 Olympics on Saturday evening. Durant converted 10-of-14 field goals, including 5-of-8 from three-point range, and added a team-high six assists, four rebounds and two steals in 22 minutes.
The Americans return to the court to face Venezuela at 5 p.m. CT on Monday, Aug. 8 and Australia at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Team USA then faces Serbia at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 12 before concluding pool play against France at 12:15 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 14. All four remaining preliminary round games will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.
The top four teams from each Olympic preliminary round group will advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The winners of those contests will play in the semifinals on Friday, Aug. 19. The gold and bronze medal games will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21.
