No. 21 Women's Tennis shuts out West Virginia, 4-0

Longhorns sweep Mountaineers, await Iowa State on Sunday in Ames.
MORGANTOWN, W.V. – No. 21 Texas (9-6, 3-2 Big 12) claimed the doubles point and added three singles wins in a 4-0 victory at West Virginia (4-10, 0-4 Big 12) Friday afternoon.
Texas opened the match with victories at the third and second doubles positions to lock up the doubles point. UT sophomore Daniella Roldan teamed with junior Dani Wagland and made short work of Kirsten White and Sofia Duran, as the Texas tandem notched a 6-0 win at third doubles.
Texas finished off the doubles session with a 6-3 win from senior Neda Koprcina and freshman Anna Turati over Paula Goetz and Lyn Yuen Choo at second doubles. The remaining match at first doubles was suspended.
Texas tacked on to its lead at third singles where freshman Petra Granic defeated Christina Jordan by a 6-1, 6-3 count. The Longhorns pushed their lead to 3-0 behind freshman Bianca Turati's 6-2, 7-5 win over Kaja Mrgole at first singles.
Koprcina wrapped up the Texas victory with her 7-6, 6-2 win over Goetz at second singles. The remaining matches were suspended.
"I definitely give a ton of credit to West Virginia for a vastly improved team and set of competitors," said second-year Texas head coach Howard Joffe. "Today was extremely challenging, and I am encouraged to see our ladies starting to compete better as they get more experience."
Texas completes its weekend road trip on Sunday when it visits Iowa State (10 a.m. CT).
