No. 21 Women's Tennis knocks off Iowa State, 4-0

Longhorns make short work of the Cyclones, sweep weekend road trip.
AMES, Iowa – No. 21 Texas (10-6, 4-2 Big 12) won a couple of doubles matches and quickly posted three singles victories to seal a 4-0 win at Iowa State (15-6, 1-4 Big 12) Sunday morning.
Texas opened the match with wins at the first and third positions to nail down the doubles point. Freshmen Petra Granic and Bianca Turati never let up in their match at first doubles and defeated Samantha Budai and Maty Cancini, 6-0. UT sophomore Daniella Roldan and junior Dani Wagland locked up the point for Texas with a 6-2 win over Regina Espindola and Erin Freeman at third doubles. The remaining match was suspended.
The Longhorns pounced on the Cyclones in singles play and finished off the team win over ISU in less than two hours. Granic finished off Espindola by a 6-1, 6-0 count at third singles, and Roldan knocked off the Cyclones' Annabella Bonadonna 6-2, 6-4 at sixth singles to give Texas a 3-0 lead.
The Longhorns clinched the team win at fifth singles where Wagland dealt Margarita Timakova a 7-6 (4), 6-0 defeat. The remaining courts were suspended.
"Without question, the ladies' focus and drive are improving," said second-year Texas head coach Howard Joffe. "It was good to enjoy a convincing win today, but I know our group realizes more is demanded as we enter the last six weeks of the season. If our collective drive is strong, I see us storming to the finish line this year."
Texas resumes dual-match play on Wednesday, April 12 when it visits Baylor.
