• SUCCESS IN PHILLIPS 66 BIG 12 FIRST ROUND: Texas enters Wednesday's contest with a 5-1 mark in Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship first-round games. The Longhorns have won four consecutive first-round contests in the league's postseason tourney.
• ALLEN CLAIMS PAIR OF BIG 12 HONORS: Freshman F Jarrett Allen earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Third Team and the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in the official All-Big 12 awards announced Sunday. He leads the team and ranks third in the Big 12 in rebounding (8.5 rpg) and also leads the squad and ranks fourth in the conference in blocks (48). Allen has recorded 12 double-doubles this year (eight in Big 12 play) and averaged 16.2 ppg and 9.8 rpg in Big 12 Conference play.
• CLEARE ON A ROLL: Senior F Shaquille Cleare has played the best and most efficient basketball of his career over the last two games entering the postseason. In those two contests, Cleare has averaged 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game while converting 14-of-17 (.824) field goals.
