Clear Bag Policy
04.13.2017 | Texas Athletics
Texas fans,
To enhance existing security measures and expedite venue entry at Texas Athletics events, a new Clear Bag Policy is being implemented that regulates the size and type of bag that may be carried into venues. The Clear Bag Policy is effective August 1, 2017 and will be in place for the start of 2017 Texas Soccer season, and the Football home opener vs. Maryland on Sept. 2. (NOTE: Gregory Gym is now included in Texas Atheltics' Clear Bag Policy as of the 2025 season)
Bags that are permitted include:
- Bags that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12 x 6 x 12
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
- Small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear but cannot exceed 4.5 x 6.5
Bags not permitted include:
- Backpacks, printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, camera or binocular cases.
- Diaper bags are not allowed. Items normally carried in a diaper bag must be put into a clear plastic bag for venue entry.
Additionally, common items not permitted in athletics venues are video cameras, professional detachable lens cameras, electronic equipment cases, banners, fireworks, strollers, tripods, alcoholic beverages, coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, foodstuffs, umbrellas, flagpoles, pets, or artificial noisemakers. For a more detailed list of prohibited items, please see 'Prohibited items' in the Texas Athletics fan guides.
The Texas Longhorns Official Team Shop and other retailers will have officially licensed clear bags for purchase prior to the beginning of next season.
Thank you for your cooperation and Hook 'em, Horns!
